【最後の大物】「モードの帝王」カール・ラガーフェルド死去

In 2009 when I had my book signing @colette in Paris, after signing books for three hours straight I got up to stretch my legs and go to the restroom. When I got back to the table Garance said, “You’ll never guess what just happened! Moments after you left Karl Lagerfeld walked up, flipped through the book, looked at me, shook my hand, and said very good book, turned, and walked away.” I missed my one Karl Lagerfeld moment of approval! Regardless of the missed opportunity he was a design genius and a constant inspiration. Fashion is built on larger than life characters like Karl Lagerfeld who will obviously be missed. PS I totally forgot until I reread the post for this photograph (Milan 2007), that when I took the photo above, Karl asked to see the image on the back of the camera. Luckily he really liked it, so I guess I did get my moment of approval. Thanks Karl 😎
